The Award winning Melstrum Ukulele Orchestra is a concert group that started performing in public back in 2011. Following the resounding success of our first gig at Thorpe Arnold, our booking numbers have risen steadily year on year, with appearances at many local events and festivals in and around Melton Mowbray, Oakham and the surrounding villages.
All of us have previously sung in choirs and/or performed in musicals and we bring our singing and, sometimes, our acting talents into our performances. One thing we all share is a passion for playing the ukulele and for enjoying ourselves, and, of course, entertaining our audiences as we sing! |
We're a vibrant and versatile group, bringing you a lively mix of music! From foot-stomping skiffle and heartwarming country to toe-tapping pop and soulful folk, we embrace a diverse repertoire. We even throw in a few unexpected twists and the occasional comedic number for good measure.
We dedicate ourselves to weekly rehearsals, honing our performances and constantly expanding our musical horizons. Every performance is a chance to give back to our community. We proudly support local charities, raising funds and spreading joy through the power of music. |
